Dr. Antoinette Pigatt views therapy as a partnership between the client and clinician. She believes that there is a reciprocal influence between individuals and their relationships with themselves, others, and environments. Each client has strengths that can serve as resources for their wellness and cultural value that can serve as protective factors to help raise overall functioning. She has spent over 20 years in Human Services with experience in advocacy, equity and inclusion, foster care, family intervention, juvenile justice, mental health, human trafficking, sexual assault victim services, and program development and management for local, national, and global humanitarian outreach.

Valerie has a strong passion for mental health and wellness, which involves integrating holistic approaches. She believes mental wellness increases healthier behaviors, contributing to social enjoyment, mental concentration, and balanced energy levels. Her experience expands over 20 years of teaching early childhood education, and advocating for at-risk youths and victims of sexual assault.  She is currently a mental health counselor providing therapy for individuals, children and adolescents, couples, groups, and families. She also believes that alternative therapies have great value in helping clients reach a state of equilibrium, which is why she loves teaching yoga.  She looks forward to being part of your journey toward wellness here at the Balm Center.

Dr. Tronda Douglas is a Navy veteran who has a passion for working with veterans and children. She has assisted military personnel and families from all Armed Forces branches, stateside and transnational. She has over 30 years of human services experience working in military culture, community support services, advocacy, equity and inclusion, children and youth, and crisis intervention.

My name is Brittany Taylor. I graduated from Devry University and received my medical billing and coding certification.  I enjoy learning the concepts and guidelines of medical billing and coding, which has led me to further my education to receive the highest level of accreditation.  Ten years in the healthcare industry has prepared me to provide excellent customer service. Serving clients at The Balm Center is my number one priority. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Krystal Mangual recently joined The Balm Center in March 2024. She received her college education from Blue Ridge Community College. She serves as the Office Manager for our West Virginia location. Krystal is relatively new to the mental health industry but is no stranger to management. Krystal has a solid background in administrative assistance and over 7 years of experience working in HR and customer service. On any given day, Krystal is at the front desk waiting to greet clients and guests with a smile and a warm welcome. Krystal’s passionate heart for serving people is one of the many gifts that God has blessed her with. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

Brittany Denton graduated from Messiah University with a bachelor’s degree in social work and a minor in pre-counseling and therapy. She received her master’s in social work from Salisbury University. Brittany has served children, adolescents, and adults individually and as units of the family system. She has experience working with youth in foster care and helping families navigate the effects of trauma, child abuse, and neglect. Brittany is passionate about empowering individuals and families as they realize their strengths and resiliency. She is thankful for the opportunity to join the Balm Center Team of Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Hello, my name is Derek Allen. I am grateful and proud to be part of such a talented team of professionals. I studied business management and psychology in college, earning a master’s degree in positive psychology and life coaching. Life has taught me that service to others is the highest honor one can achieve. My passion is youth coaching and I specialize in personal development. My goal is to help others overcome life’s pitfalls through sharing new insights on their strengths and potential.

Jailyn developed her interest in Psychology in her earlier years. She began working as a Behavioral Technician for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Working as a behavioral technician gave Jailyn her first experience in therapy, which she soon realized was her passion. She enjoys serving her community in various ways and with various age groups. At The Balm Center, she works as a clinical case manager. Jailyn plans on furthering her education in clinical psychology with a concentration in mental health. She is happy to assist in any way she can and enjoys being a part of the holistic approach to wellness.

Roberta graduated from Shepherd University with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a minor in Mass Communications. She has worked with Adults and Children with intellectual disabilities and behavioral disorders for 17+ years. Roberta's experience in the field includes positions such as, Direct Support Professional, Child Behavioral Therapist, Residential Manager, Program Coordinator, and Family Advocate for Foster Families. Roberta is excited to be joining The Balm Center Team of Martinsburg, WV to begin a new chapter of her life and to be able to ignite the passion that she has for helping others.
