Mental Health Assessments & Diagnostic Evaluations
Each of us is the sum of our experiences in life. The secret is discovering how those experiences interrelate. The Balm Center offers clinical counseling and human services assistance in the areas described below.
Mental Health Assessment & Diagnostic Evaluations
The Balm Center provides comprehensive mental health and diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing emotional, behavioral, psychological, or interpersonal challenges. These assessments are conducted by qualified, licensed mental health professionals, including Licensed Psychologists, Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), and other appropriately supervised clinicians, practicing within their professional scope. Through clinical interviews, behavioral observations, standardized screening tools, and a review of personal, family, developmental, and mental health histories, our clinicians evaluate concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, behavioral difficulties, relationship challenges, and other mental health conditions. The Balm Center assesses for trauma as part of all assessments, reducing the need for a separate trauma assessment. A diagnostic assessment is the first step in developing an individualized treatment plan and serves as the foundation of quality, effective therapy.
This process helps identify each individual's unique strengths, challenges, symptoms, and treatment needs while establishing appropriate clinical diagnoses when supported by the assessment findings. The information gathered guides the development of personalized treatment goals, evidence-based interventions, and recommendations for additional services when needed. At The Balm Center, our goal is to ensure that every client begins their therapeutic journey with a thorough understanding of their needs and a clear, collaborative path toward healing, emotional wellness, and improved quality of life.
